Sam Kotadia works in a variety of high performance settings. These include professional football clubs, elite sports training centres, stock-market trading environments, and high-powered business organisations.

In all environments Sam has demonstrated how the mind can be harnessed and trained to achieve more. Documenting his experiences the foundations of Mindsport’s suite of professional qualifications and courses were developed. Being member of the British Psychological Society, and holding a Bachelor of Science, and a Master of Science from the University of Essex, Sam recognises the importance of a credible academic background. Through regular consultations with leading psychologist Dr Martin Hagger (Reader at the University of Nottingham), Sam continues to refine Mindsport’s body of psychological knowledge.

Current academic interests within the field of psychology include the relationship between intention and behaviour, and ways to bridge the gap between the two. Such interests sparked the development of a series of innovative products, authored by Sam, as tools to increase the adhesion to self-help strategies. The products consist of packs of cards that contain accessible self-help information designed to improve performance on a number of popular topics. To further develop the company’s repertoire of mental skills, Sam specialised in an area of applied psychology called “Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP). Trained by the founder of NLP, Sam added to his armoury of psychological self-help strategies by learning how to change behaviour on a more unconscious and permanent level.
